ISO 9001 Certification

Renton Coil Spring has now been certified to ISO 9001 for 1 year. Although this sounds like old news, we admit
to not doing a great job of informing our customers of this certification. Gaining our ISO certification was a
9 month process that involved everyone in the plant. We found that in general our procedures were sound but they
were poorly documented. By transferring the procedures from “tribal knowledge” to ISO formatted procedures we were
able to eliminate repetitive and non value-added activity. The result is accurate, streamlined, and well understood
procedures that have helped us be reliably accurate and efficient in all our business activities.
The company focus remains to provide the highest quality parts, complete technical support, and on-time performance
at a competitive price. RCS became accredited to ISO 9001 in June of 1998. This implementation of this project
spanned nearly a year of effort from the employees and management. This major accomplishment formalizes their quality
procedures and positions them to do even more work outside the US. New equipment has been put to work to expand
their capability and capacity. RCS is continuing to look for and acquire new equipment. |
