Commercial Aviation

Safety, Efficiency, and stability. RCS provides the Aerospace Industry with what it needs to succeed.

Renton Coil Spring Co. has been a premier supplier of springs to the aerospace industry for over 50 years. We have the capability of providing spring and wire form solutions for nearly all aerospace needs. From music wire to 17-7 stainless and Titanium we provide many options of materials and design to satisfy your requirements. We are an engineering oriented company and pride ourselves in being in the forefront of spring design and manufacturing technology.

Renton Coil Spring has been involved with the development of a number of commercial and business jets. The most recent of these are the Boeing 777, 7E7 and Airbus A380. We are also involved with the popular CRJ 700/900 and numerous business Jets including the Global Express, Continental and Falcon F7X.

Renton Coil Spring’s design capabilities and material technologies combine to allow significant weight and volume savings. Applications include doors, actuators and controls. With actuators, the volume reductions possible with titanium springs also allow reduction in size and weight of surrounding components allowing a cascading benefit greater than initially apparent. The largest weight savings are afforded in landing gear designs where great amounts of energy have to be stored by the springs. The wide temperature capabilities and superior corrosion resistance of titanium make it the only viable spring material for these demanding applications.
